Medicine always seemed to be the natural course in life for me. I grew up in a comfortable home with a medically oriented family; my mother and aunt were both physicians.

Their influence charted my academic course and career choices, carefully guiding and prodding to stay on the straight and narrow path of expectation carved out for me.

College, medical school, and residency were hurdles to navigate; the almighty dream job was in my lap after finishing residency .
